The operating companies can transport virtually any cargo by barge through any region, including environmentally sensitive areas and regions with severe weather hazards. Contract towing projects can range from speculative towing such as moving a military vessel for disposal, to humanitarian aid deliveries around the world, to long-term contracts, such as Foss’ lighterage of lead and zinc from the Red Dog Mine in Alaska.
