AMNAV Maritime has grown from a small ship assist company started in the early 1970’s into a robust provider of maritime services on the U.S. West Coast. The company has steadily expanded and diversified, and today it offers a broad range of capabilities including the newest fleet of high-tech tractor tugs on the West Coast. AMNAV’s customers include some of the world’s leading cruise ships, container lines and petroleum companies. In addition to ship assist and offshore towing, AMNAV operates the joint-venture barge bunkering company Southbay Oil Transport in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. AmNav operates a fleet of 10 tugs and 2 barges in Oakland and Long Beach/Los Angeles. The newest tug in the fleet is the Dolphin tug, the Sandra Hugh, which was added to the fleet in 2007.
